Collection Description
Classic traditional styling elements are used in a very contemporary way in the Retrospect Collection. All the Retrospect cases feature "motion" since they are bow front, breakfront, or both. The motion carries through to the chairs, beds, upholstery and occasional as well. Dramatic shapes and rich finish are the hallmarks of Retrospect. Another element that is used in a variety of novel ways is the classic Roman, Greek, Etruscan keystone. The element that makes the architectural arch possible, it is used in the mirror, the Recollection Sleigh Bed, the chair backs, and it is even suggested in the ring pull back plates. Scallop trim molding accents many of the items in the collection and all the cases feature cove shaped corners to add even more motion. The case and table tops feature cherry veneers in an overscale herringbone pattern with walnut stringing and quartered cherry borders. The rich warm Claret finish is deep and clear like the fine wine it is named for.
